Spanish for conquerors. Soldiers who conquered indigenous American civilisations.

When a county takes over another territory and settles some of its own people over to control it.

The trade triangle whereby ships delivered African slaves to America, American goods to Europe and European manufactured goods back to Africa.

The exchange of foods, animals and technologies between Europe and America.

The belief that god has already decided before a person was born whether they would go to heaven

Catholic courts set up during he counter reformation to arrest, try and punish anyone who thought to be a threat to Church teachings
