verbal and nonverbal elements.
The style you communicate and what language form you use. (frozen/static, formal register, consultative, casual etc)
Instrumentalities
the social and cultural rules that govern communication in a given context.
Norms:
the type or category of communication, such as a conversation, lecture, or interview.
Genre:
a famous linguist
