- Many businesses now have CSR considerations embedded in their business
- Must remain during times of change to keep the business on track with their key values
- This is due to increased awareness and public criticisms of business activities
- When implementing the change: Considering the environment, community and workforce.
WHAT IMPACT DOES CSR HAVE ON EMPLOYEES?
- Need to minimise impact change has on employee wellbeing
Concerns for its workplace and their families, - Providing a flexible work atmosphere for its employees
- Lessening noise pollution from a factory
- Allowing employees to volunteer their time for other on-profit organisation
- Employing local workers
THE CHANGE
- Downsizing, stores closures or new technologies leading to redundancies

- Reducing or eliminating practises that are detrimental to society
- Change can result in low employment rates associated with higher rates of crime and poverty
- Giving non-profit organisation a portion of a business proceeds
- Supporting community education through philanthropic donations of money or equipment
- Using only fair trade ingredients
- making donations of time or money to charities
- Ensuring the supply chain is also behaving in an CSR approach
- Sponsoring local events

CSR: Choose local to create employment opportunities
- Introduce new technology replacing human labour
CSR: Redeploy employees to other areas to minimise unemployment. Provide redundant employees with job interview training – reduce unemployment rate in community.
- Global sourcing of materials CSR: Source materials from businesses that provide fair pay and working conditions
ADVANTAGES OF CSR
- Can develop positive reputation which leads to more customers purchasing products/services.
- May attract highly skilled employees who value ethical conduct and are committed to objectives.
- Employees usually prefer work for businesses who have ethical practices.
- Customers are willing to pay more for ethically produced goods or services.
DISADVANTAGES OF CSR
- A constant focus on CSR may decrease productivity levels.
- It can be time consuming to address various CSR considerations.
- CSR practices can be expensive for business to implement.
