26.5.4: Radiography Flashcards
We can take lateromedial and dorsopalmar/dorsoplantar views of the joints. What are 2 oblique views we commonly take?
Dorsolateral palmaromedial oblique
Dorsomedial palmarolateral oblique
NB: for hindlimbs, same as above except plantaro rather than palmaro
We are taking an oblique view of a joint. The generator is at the start of the yellow arrow, and the plate it at the end of it. What is the view called? What will it highlight?
Dorsolateral palmaromedial oblique view
This highlights the dorsomedial and palmarolateral areas
We are taking an oblique view of a joint. The generator is at the start of the red arrow, and the plate it at the end of it. What is the view called? What will it highlight?
Dorsomedial palmarolateral oblique view
This will highlight the dorsolateral and palmaromedial areas
What radiographic views would we take in a standard foot series?
- Lateromedial
- Dorsopalmar
- Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the pedal bone
- Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the navicular bone
- Palmaroproximal palmarodistal 45 degree oblique
These are taken of both feet so minimum 10 images.
What is another name for the dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the pedal bone?
Upright pedal view
What is another name for the upright pedal view?
Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the pedal bone
What is another name for the upright navicular view?
Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the navicular bone
What is another name for the upright navicular view?
Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the navicular bone
What is another name for the dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the navicular bone?
Upright navicular view
What is another name for the palmaroproximal palmarodistal 45 degree oblique?
Flexor navicular view
What is another name for the flexor navicular view?
Palmaroproximal palmarodistal 45 degree oblique
This image shows two ways of taking the same radiographic view. Which view is this?
Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the pedal bone (a.k.a. upright pedal)
This image shows the two ways of taking the same radiographic view. The red arrow shows where the image will be centred. Which view is being taken here?
Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the navicular bone
(a.k.a. the upright navicular)
Which radiographic view is shown here? What should you do to the foot before you take this image?
Dorsoproximal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the pedal bone
(a.k.a. the upright pedal)
Pack the frog clefts with play doh to avoid air artefact.
Which radiographic view is shown here?
This is the dorsoproxinal palmarodistal 60 degree oblique centred on the navicular bone (a.k.a. upright navicular)
