Q

Explain frost shattering?

A

Water gets into cracks and when temperature reaches freezing, the water expand by 9% so then forces the rock to shatter apart.

Q

Explain salt crystallisation?

A

Waves break on the cliffs but as the water evaporates it leaves behind sodium and magnesium compounds and as they grow they exert pressure on the rock casting it to fall apart.
