2.4 Study Guide Flashcards
What happens to the death rate in developing countries?
The death rate goes down
How can an age structure diagram be used to predict population growth?
If there are less people in the reproductive ages than the pre- reproductive ages, the population should grow. If there are more people in the reproductive ages than the pre-reproductive ages the population should decline. If the amount of people are about the same, then the population shouldn’t grow or shrink at all.
What are the differences between developing and developed countries?
Developed countries use more resources and do not have a lot of population growth, while developing countries use less resources and have a rapidly growing population.
What happens to infant mortality rate in each stage?
Undeveloped countries have a high IMR, developing countries have a lower IMR and developed countries have a low IMR.
