What does DNS stand for?
Distributed Naming System.
What does a file server do?
Stores files. Allows you to access them from on the network.
What is Mac OS’s standard file management system?
Apple Filing Protocol.
What is a print server?
Software/hardware that allows us to connect the printer to the network.
What is a mail server?
Server responsible for sending and receiving mail.
What is syslog?
A common standard that aggregates logs across multiple devices.
What is a SIEM?
A security, information, and event manager that we use to collect log files.
What is a server?
Servers that are responsible for responding to browser requests. These use HTTP, HTTPS and build out browser pages using HTML or another standard language.
What is an authentication server?
A server that centralizes usernames and passwords across services. Usually very important, and many orgs have redundant services.
