What is body composition?
The amount of muscle, fat, water and bone in the body
What is cardiovascular fitness?
The ability of the body to take in oxygen, deliver it to working muscles and then utilise it during energy production
What is flexibility?
The range of motion (ROM) possible around a joint/range of joints
What is muscular endurance?
The ability of a muscle (group) to repeatedly contract against resistance
What is muscular strength?
The amount of force that can be exerted by a muscle (group) against resistance
What are the 2 types of strength?
- Absolute strength
- Relative strength
What is absolute strength?
The maximum force produced by a muscle (group)
What is relative strength?
The total force a person can exert in relation to their body weight
What is agility?
How quickly someone can change the position or direction of their body
What is balance?
The ability to stay upright and control the body’s position
What is coordination?
The ability of the neuromuscular system to produce appropriate movements
What is power?
How quickly someone can exert maximum force
