Why is prayer important?
A
- It’s a way of communicating with God
- Brings you closer to God
- It’s a sign of faith that will be rewarded
- To achieve forgiveness
- To ask for help

What are the different types of prayer?
A
- Prayers of adoration, to worship God and enrich the soul
- Confessional prayers, allowing God to forgive their sins
- Intercessory prayers, in order to help someone in need. Jesus is a model for intercessory prayer as he put himself between God and humans.
- Prayers of petition, allowing people to pray for their personal needs
- Thanksgiving prayers
- Meditation, e.g. reflecting on Jesus’ life
