  1. Zygomorphic, only one plane of symmetry
  2. Economic use of pollen, only enough needed to cover part of body that come into contact with stigma.
  3. Deep nectarines, long insect tongue required.
  4. Morphology - requires strong/heavy insects to enter.
  5. Usually pollinated by bees

Legume flowers - how they are pollinated.

A
  1. Insect, generally bee, lands in the wings of flower
  2. Weight of bee presses wings apart and keel downwards.
  3. Stamen and stigma become exposed.
  4. They come into contact with ventral section of insects’ body
  5. Bee moves pollen to another flower. NB. In pea pollen is released in the keel
