What is a life sentence

A

judge sets a minimum time the offender must spend in prison before considered to be released

What is an indeterminate sentence

A

Judge sets a minimum amount of time the offender must serve in prison and will be released after served

What is a Determinate sentence

A

offenders will be given a minimum sentence and if good behaviour will be released halfway through - most prisoners serve this

A

the offender does not go to prison but if commits another crime they will serve both the original sentence and the other crime they have committed
