A

The cloud is often used to store audio and video which can then be streamed by users. e.g. Spotify, BBC iPlayer, Netflix.

A

Many people now choose to use cloud to host their websites for example:
Amazon Web Services (AWS)

A

Many applications are now accessible through cloud so there is no need to install them on a secondary storage. e.g Google Docs, Microsoft Office 365, Gmail.

The cloud is often used to store files and allows them to be shared easily e.g. Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud Drive.

A

A

Cloud services exist in giant data centers all around the world.

Where is the location of the data centers?

A

The end-user doesn’t know the geographical location of the data centers and where their data is stored. There is no guarantee that the data will even be kept in the same country. Large websites often have at least one data center in every large country they provide services to.

How are data centers storages?

A

Data centers are basically rooms full of secondary storage devices, so that we can store our data and access it again.
Data centers usually go for very expensive devices because the time taken to access the data needs to be minimised.

What is a web server and clients?

A

A web server is a dedicated computer on the internet that responds to HTTP (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol) and HTTPS (for sensitive data)requests. Web servers usually include a domain name that has not been chosen. They give offers of keeping the website safe from cyber attacks.
Client computers request files from a server. When you go on a website your server requests the web pages from the web browser and downloads the pages. A set of rules for how web pages are uploaded and downloaded.
