What is the internet protocol?
A
A set of rules that makes sure that devices can work together on the internet.
Every device is assigned an IP address that is used to send and receive data from other devices.

Why are routers important to the internet?

Because they pass the data between the internet.

What is a router?
A
Send packets to other networks. Allows the devices in your home to have internet. The Internet is distributed and it has an IP address.
