An angel appeared to Muhammad asking him to read a revelation from Allah Muhammad refused as he couldn’t read and this happen three times untill on the third time Muhammad recited the verse and was declared the messenger of Allah.
What effect did the night of power have on Muhammad?
He became the messenger of Allah and received more revelations over time and then became the final messenger of Allah due to delivering the final and all of Allah’s revelations.
What happened on the night Journey?
An angel took Muhammad to Jerusalem on a winged horse names al-buraq his heart was then taken out and purified from doubt, idolatry and error and he was filled with faith and wisdom. He ascended through the seven heavens and was shown both paradise and hell. He met previous prophets such as Musa agreed with him on 5 prayers a day and then entered the presence of Allah at his throne. Muhammed was then returned to Makkah but no time had been passed.
How do some Muslims understand the importance of the Night Journey?
Some muslims believe it was spiritual and not an actual journey. Sufi muslims say that this is an experience that all muslims can share as they draw closer spiritually to God.
