-fluent speech but difficulty with auditory comprehension or verbal comprehension or in reptiation of words spoken by others (wernicke’s, anomic) damage to the temporal lobe
Disorders of production-
poor articulation, word finding deficit, loss of syntax, inability to repeat
Disorders of comprehension-
poor auditory or visual comphrension
Secondary aphasia
due to memory impairments, attention disorders or perceptual problems
Primary aphasia
due to problems with language processing mechanisms
Anathria-
incoordination of muscles of hand/writing
Alexia-
reading inability
Agraphia-
disorder in writing
Aphasia-
disorder of language apparent in speech and writing, or reading produced by injury to the brain in areas for these functions
