Verbs are =
action words
Infinitives =
base form of verbs, meaning “to (verb)”. These will always end in -ar, -er, or -ir.
Conjugation =
the endings of verbs that tell us WHO is performing the action of the verb.
Subject Pronouns =
help us determine how to conjugate the forms
1st Person Singular
Yo, (conjugation ends in “-o”)
2nd Person Singular
Tú, (conjugation ends in “-as”, or “-es”)
3rd Person Singular
El, Ella, Usted, (conjugation ends in “-an”, or “-en”)
1st Person Plural
Nosotros, (conjugation ends in “-amos” or “-emos” or “-imos”)
2nd Person Plural
Ustedes, (conjugation ends in “-an” or “-en”)
3rd Person Plural
Ellos, Ellas, , (conjugation ends in “-an” or “-en”)
There are 3 uses for
Infinitives
Use 1 for Infinitives
When the verb comes after an already conjugated verb
Use 2 for Infinitives
When the verb is the subject of the sentence (first word of sentence)
Use 3 for Infinitives
When it comes after a preposition
Prepositions are
