Define Population Density
The number of organisims in a given area that can affect the population due to competition for resources, such as predation and spread of disease.
Define Population
Group of indivuals of same species in same area at same time
Define Population Distributation
How the indivuals of a population spread out acorss there habitat
Examples of Population Distrubtion?
Clumped, Random, Uniform
How do we calculate Mark and Recapture?
Total Population size/total # marked = total # recaptued/total # marked in recapture
How do we calculate population density?
Number of indiviuals/area of volume occupied
How do we calculate Random Sampling?
of organisims in sample/area of sample = total # of organisims/total area
Why do populations clump?
Hunting, spreads work of proetcting and caring for young
Why do populations random?
Resources distrubted all over
Why do populations uniform?
Due to Less competition, food scarce or evenly placed.
What types of populations are Uniform?
Penguins, types of birds
