What was the (8) hour class broken up to?
One section is the 6 hour class instructed by the SDPD Traffic Division. Employee’s may go on-duty or overtime.

What RCS digital format are we on now? 800 radios

When responding to Chula Vista, National City, Imperial Beach and Coronado how do you access their radio channels?
Add “22” to the “usual” agency group number to get to the new digital group.
Example: Zone “6A” will now be in Zone “28”……just by adding 22+6
**the channel will still be labeled 6A, but it will look like “*6A”on the radio display.

What is it?

To provide a system where information can be gathered in the field and retrieved for use during emergency operations.

What is one of the challenges of “boundary drops?”or, the metro zone response?
Alarm assignments use to differ until we formed a committee with a representative from each Metro Zone agency to agree on resources assigned to multi-jurisdictional agencies or cities.
How many Alert 5’s (crash off the air field)are there?
Only one now.
The 800 MHz conversion to the digital 700MHz. Who will complete theirs first?
County or City
The County will complete theirs first. Once the county gives notification, San Diego will be in our conversion process. A bulletin should be forthcoming.
Our mutual threat zone agreement is between what agencies?
SDFD, Rancho Santa Fe Fire, Poway Fire, Escondido Fire and CalFIRE.
What battalions generally have the mutual threat zones?
Battalions 5 & 7
What is the goal when it comes to dispatching multi-agencies to a MTZ using common communications?
VHF and channels proven to have best performance within MTZ area.
When should units DEVIATE from the dispatched ECDC mutual threat zone radio channels?
If you deviate from the initial frequencies, what channel should one report on?
Early in the incident and no VHF frequency assigned yet, or an apparent communication failure.
Back-up channel is 10K (Monte Vista ECC)
With the new Stand-Back pilot study, what are we trying to determine?
If the changes will decrease stand-back times.
