battery indicator LEDS

A

At full charge, all five bars illuminate green to indicate battery voltage of 13 volts +.
As the battery discharges, green bars extinguish one at a time until three remain lit to indicate a battery voltage of 12.4 volts.
If the state of charge drops further, green bars turn orange / yellow in color and continue to extinguish until one red bar remains.
If the state of charge drops further still, the red bar will flash to indicate charge has dropped to 11.2 volts or below. Batteries should be re-charged as soon as possible.

When in sleep mode, the LED lights will blink every 2-3 seconds. The LED which blinks also indicates that battery’s state of charge. If a low battery condition is noticed, recharge as soon as possible.

Diesel Particulate Filter light illuminate (SOLID): low to medium levels of particulate build up

A

Requires regen but should be able to complete its mission
1. Initiate DPF regen by switching to more challenging duty cycle: highway driving for at least 20 minutes or pumping
2. Or perform parked regen

88
Q

DPF ligh illuminate flashing: medium to high levels of particulate build up (requires regen asap)

A
  1. more challenging duty cyle
  2. or Parked regen
89
Q

DPF light flashing w/ amber check engine (high level of particulate build up)

A
  1. Automatic regen will not initiate
  2. Must perform parked regen
90
Q

parked regen not done w/ flashing amber and check engine light

A
  1. red stop engine illuminates
  2. as soon as safe to do so, vehicle should be stopped
91
Q

What are the two types of regeneration

A
  1. Passive- occur during normal engine operation, typically at higher engine speeds(highway driving) and/or high loads, when exhuast temp naturally get high enough to oxidize soot in DPF. No engine ECU or operator intervention required
  2. Active- controlled by engine ECU. injects small amount of diesel fuel into exhuast stream which raises temp to provide the heat needed to burn off the accumulated soot and regenerate the DPF

Active regen can happen while apparatus is driven or pumping operations

92
Q

Automatic Active Regen when what conditions are satisfied

A
  1. DPF light illuminates and ECU looks for opportunities to regenerate
  2. Sufficient exahust flow and temp conditions (engine fully warm and under load; pumping or highway driving)
  3. Speedometer showing 5 mph or higher vehicle speed or in pumping mode
93
Q

DPF regen may take up to how many minutes

A

20-40 minutes or more

94
Q

exahust temps stay high at least how many minutes after completion

A

3-5 minutes

95
Q

how can a parked regen be cancelled

A
  1. depress throttle
  2. release parking brake
  3. pressing regen inhibit switch
  4. or turn off engine
96
Q

Do not idle in gear (reverse or drive) for longer than __ minutes

A

5 min

extended idling can cause transmission damage

97
Q

if idle greater than 5 minutes can lead to

A
  1. fuel dilution of the lubricating oil
  2. Unburned fuel passing through to exahust system
  3. carbon build up in the cylinder
  4. cylinder head valve sticking
  5. smoking
  6. reduced performance
98
Q

if necessry to idle the engine for more than 5 minutes, what must be activated

99
Q

which brakes fill first

A

rear so maxis can be disengaged before front brakes are filled

100
Q

maxis release air when applied, front wheel lock uses air brake system pressure to keep applied, only use when the engine is

A

running

101
Q

What is the Jake Brake

A

Electronically actuated mechanical system added to the engine valve train. When activated, the compression brake alters the operation of the engine’s exhuast valves so that the engine works as a power absorbing air compressor

102
Q

intake relief valve set to

A

250 psi, DO NOT CAP OUTLET
