The metal lops that are connected to the tool belt are called D rings they are connected in the way that is called floating connection that allow the rings to be freely moved to left and right.

It means climbing with safety straps as balance and feet as support.
When free accenting of free climbing what is the technic used?
When free accenting same side arm and legs are raised at the same time. Then the other side is raised this way your weight shifts from one side to the other.
When climbing a pole with gaffs what is the proper technic to ensure the proper penetration of gaffs into the pole?
After Initially insert to the pole with gaffs. Straight your legs such that the need lucks in place. This way the gaffs penetrate farther down to the pole and make a better support.
