2. NO-COST BENEFITS Flashcards
AD&D CERTIFICATE
So- (Client/Spouse), this is your AD&D Certificate.
This covers you when you die in any type of accident. American Income Life is the company that covers this benefit for you, through The Safe Life Network.
(ABOUT TO COLLECT FIRST 1-2 REFERRALS)
It’s non-contributory and non-participating, which means you don’t have to pay for it, or quality for it, because it’s already been taken care of. Pretty nice, huh?
You’ll want to verify your beneficiary, and keep your copy in a safe place. That way you’ll have proof of it, if and when something happens. Does that make sense? Perfect!
Ask/write down all info on AD&D- ask for beneficiaries & contact numbers
So, who is going to be your primary beneficiary? And who is going to be your contingent beneficiary?
VISION DISCOUNT CARD
The next benefit here is the Vision Discount Card.
It works in cooperation with your regular employer benefits, and provides an additional 30% discount on prescription or safety glasses, and 15% discount on non-prescription sunglasses at any Superstore, Zehrs or Loblaws Store. The best part is it never expires!
CHILD SAFETY/MCGRUFF KITS
Now these are your (Child Safety Kits/McGruff Child Safety Kits).
(ABOUT TO COLLECT MORE REFERRALS)
Are you familiar with the Amber Alerts? Police are actively searching for over 2,300 children in our communities each day.
That makes this such a vital tool- heaven forbid something ever happens to (your children/a child).
EXPLAIN HOW TO USE THE KIT
Now, you see how important this is for all children? Exactly!
Their goal is to get these kits out to every family with children in your area, and obviously they could use your help! SO- who’s the first family you know with kids?
FAMILY INFORMATION GUIDE 1/3
This is your family information guide.
It is not a Will, but this is very important to fill out so that when something happens to you, your family will know exactly what to do.
Vital Statistics
-On top is where you put your vital information, name, birthday, social etc.
Spouse Vital Statistics
-Where you put your vital information, name, birthday, social etc.
After you fill this out you’ll want to put this in a safe place at home.
(ABOUT TO DO MAIN REFERRAL COLLECTION)
Persons To Be Notified
-This here is the most important part.
Millions of dollars go unclaimed in life insurance each year- either because the family doesn’t know about the insurance; they don’t know how to make a claim; or the company can’t even find the beneficiary!
So what they are saying is that you put down 5 key people (each), that are local in your area and that can be there to help out your family immediately when something happens to you. This part is so important that they get me to fill it out for you- that way it’s already done in ink when we send out your benefits.
(Client/spouse) are your parents still alive?
Mom(s); Dad(s); Siblings; Best Friend(s); Most reliable people you know outside your immediate family; Close Coworkers
FAMILY INFORMATION GUIDE 2/3
Financial Institutions
-Make sure to list all your banking accounts here, because when you die someone in your family has to close your accounts. If they don’t- the bank can actually keep the money up to 100 years.
Last Will & Testament
-Make sure you fill out this part with the latest information of your will.
Estate Information/Insurance Policies
-Do you have any life insurance through work? [YES]Great, write that here in pencil, as it’s going to expire when you leave, quit or retire. [NO]No worries, if you ever do, write it here in pencil, as it’s going to expire when you leave, quit or retire.
How about anything outside of work? [TERM/WORK] Great, make sure that you write that here in pencil, as it will expire. But when you get your whole life/permanent insurance put that in pen, as it will be there your entire life! [WHOLE LIFE] Great! So write that down in pen, as it is permanent, and one day it will act as legacy money for your family, or be there to pay off some debts. And when you get your funeral benefit make sure you also write that in pen, because it too- will be there your whole life, but it will pay out in time for your funeral! [IF NONE] Not yet? Okay, well we can see if you’ll qualify for anything today! When you get your Whole Life Insurance, make sure to write it down in pen, as it’s permanent, and one day it will act as legacy money for your family; or be there to pay off some debts! And when you get your funeral benefit, make sure you also write that in pen- because it too will be there your whole life- but will pay out in time for your funeral!
FAMILY INFORMATION GUIDE 3/3
Digital Accounts
-This section is for your digital accounts. You can leave all your login information, so that your family is able to either close your account; turn it into a legacy account; or inform your extended network of family and friends through social media.
Funeral Instructions
-This part here is for your funeral service, and your final requests.
Have either of you (or a family member) ever had to plan a funeral?
Have you thought about whether you want a cremation or a burial?
Either way it’s very expensive!
Including ceremonies, the average burial is 15k, and cremation about 12k
Remind me before I go- part of the program helps take care of all your final expenses, but you will need to qualify for that. Because if they think you‘re too high risk, they won’t let you in.
NO-COST LAW AND WILL KIT
Now this is your No-Cost Law and Will Kit.
This is something very important to have filled out as soon as possible.
You have a will set up, right?
[IF YES] Ask them when they last updated it. (send a new one if they want to update it)
You can use this document here as a draft, and when you are content with the information you have listed- go to this link to complete your will. They will send an email with further instructions.
When it’s time for you to get your witness’ signatures- just make sure that they don’t have any interest in your estate, and that they are not mentioned in your will. Sound good?

Any questions?
TRANSITION/QUALIFICATION
(Client & Spouse Name)- now like it said in the email you received, there is a program that they’ve set up for the members..
Did you read the letter they sent you? [IF YES] Perfect, as you might remember this letter states that the Safe Life Network has not only given you the opportunity to get your will set up and protect your family, but also the opportunity to qualify for a permanent program which will protect you and your family for a lifetime. [IF NO] Okay, they just ask me to go over that letter with you.
(READ LETTER)
In fact, this is The Labor Advisory Board.
It consists of 54 international labor and association leaders.
They’re very important because what they do is help advise and make recommendations as to where the gaps in your benefits are, and what benefits people need.
The reason they were chosen to do the program for the unions and associations is because they realize that typically 31 days after you leave your job, get laid off, or retire- you can lose all of your insurance benefits, or they’ll greatly reduce.
However, these are permanent and portable insurance benefits and if you qualify, you’ll get to keep them for the rest of your life. Isn’t that nice?
Many might not know- that they don’t only just work with police, firefighters and teachers.
They work with over 40,000 different unions and associations, are rated A+, and have over 5 million members who are currently enrolled into our programs.
So they’ve gotta be doing something right, wouldn’t you agree?
BUT just because you have access to these benefits today- it does not mean that you’re automatically allowed to enroll.
**You have to qualify, and if you’re too high risk- they can’t let you i
So, they have me ask you a couple of questions just to make sure.
