What are the three classes of levers, and where are they found in the body?
1st class: Fulcrum in the middle (e.g., neck during a header).
2nd class: Load in the middle (e.g., calf raise).
3rd class: Effort in the middle (e.g., bicep curl).
Define ‘mechanical advantage’ and explain its importance in movement.
It is the efficiency of a lever system, allowing heavier loads to be moved with less effort.
What are the three axes of rotation used in movement analysis?
Longitudinal (top-to-bottom), transverse (side-to-side), and frontal (front-to-back).
Give an example of a sporting movement for each plane of movement.
Sagittal: Running.
Frontal: Star jump.
Transverse: Spin in ice skating.
