How did the wall street crash help the nazi party gain votes?
The depression made life hard for people in Germany, unemployment rose and they turned to more extreme parties. Hitler offered solutions to all these problems.

The political deal that allowed hitler to become chancellor
Chancellor van Papen didn’t have the support of the Reichstag so president Hindenburg made schleicher chancellor. He also didn’t have the Reichstag’s support. Papen wanted revenge so he made a deal with Hitler to form a new government with Hitler as chancellor and Papen as vice chancellor then persuaded president Hindenburg to go ahead with the plan. Hindenburg and Von Papen thought they could control Hitler.
What was important about the Reichstag fire?
Hitler got Hindenburg to declare a state of emergency, so stopped other parties from holding election meetings to get people to vote for them.
The Nazis attacked and blamed the communists.
It gave police the opportunity to arrest and imprison people without trial.
