2/28 Flaps Flashcards
Serratus anterior flap
Type III: lateral thoracic and thoracodorsal
Iliac crest osteocutaneous flap
Pedicle - DCIA
resik of abdominal hernia
Trapezius flap
Pedicle - transverse cervical a. branches, minor: occipital, dorsal scapular, intercostals
Nerve - spinal accessory (XI)
*transverse cervical is taken during neck dissection
Scapular flap
Pedicle - circumflex scapular artery
Lateral arm flap
pedicle - radial collateral artery
nerve - posterior brachial cutaneous nerve
Flaps that use the lateral circumflex femoral artery
Ascending branch: TFL, Reubens flap
Descending branch: vastus laterals, rectus femoris
Flaps that use the medial circumflex femoral artery
gracilis
Sartorius flap
Type IV muscle
pedicle: supervicial circumflex iliac, superficial femoral
Flaps that use the superficial circumflex iliac aftery
groing flap, proximal sartorius
Gracilis flap
Type II muscle
Pedicle: medial circumflex femoral artery, minor: profunda perforators
Nerve: obturator
lateral transverse thigh flap (Reubens)
Pedicle: lateral circumflex femoral ascending branch
horizontal variant of the TFL flap
NOT the same as the lateral thigh flap
Lateral thigh flap
Pedicle: 1,2,3 perforating branches of profunda
1st perf = troch/ischial
3rd perf = free flap for breasts
Type B FC perf flap
nerve: lateral cutaneous nerve of the thigh
Soleus flap
type II
major pedicle: popliteal, PT, peroneal
minor pedicle: PT branches
nerve: tibial
Gastroc flap
Type I:
artery: sural artery
nerve: motor = tibial, sensory = sural
Free fib
pedicle = peroneal artery betwen the FHL and TP
