17.5° then follow the FD ~15°
At 400’ what is the target bank angle for the first turn?
~20° AoB
Reaching 1500’ what mode, speed and attitude is used?
“Flight level change, set speed 195 knots”, slowly lower pitch to 10° to accelerate
As speed passes 175 knots on climb what does the PF call for?
“Flaps 1”
At 2700’ what pitch do you set, what do you ask for and what do you do?
Lower to 7.5°, call “After takeoff checklist” and reset clock
At 2950’ what is the target pitch?
Slowly lower the nose to very slightly above the 5° line
What do you call for when established level at 3000’?
Say “Centre Command” and read the 4 x FMA annunciations. Call for the “after takeoff checklist” if not already completed.
What is the approach briefing?
- Weather suitable for visual approach
- Flap 30
- Vref 135, 175, 215
- Autobrakes 2
- In the event of a missed approach I will call “Go Around, Flaps 20”, I will set go around thrust (motion this as saying). You will say “positive” I will say “Gear Up” and then we will climb on runway heading and contact ATC. Any questions?

Whenever we go down, WE SLOW DOWN. What flap setting do you call for on initial descent?
“Speed checked, flaps 5” set speed to 175kts and then say “speed set 175 kts”

At what XTE do we set downwind heading (adjusted for wind)
At EXACTLY 3.0NM XTE set HDG 352°
What is the target XTE abeam?
2.0NM
What is the Approach thrust setting?
62%-64% N1
What are the 6 commands when abeam the landing threshold?
- Abeam,
- Time,
- Gear Down,
- Flap 20, Set Speed,
- Arm Speed Brake
As Flap 20 is selected what pitch do you target?
2.5°
When the PM calls “Gear Down” what do you call for?
“Landing Checklist”
As soon as the response to the Speed Brake (“Armed”) in the landing checklist what do you say?
“Finals clear, Flight Directors Off, Set base heading”
At “35 Seconds” or “Timing” what do you say and do?
“Flaps 30, set speed” and roll to 25° AoB whilst maintaining 63%. Maintain pitch attitude to keep 1500’, let speed reduce toward 140KIAS and then set 2.5° at approx 2 to 3 kts before 140KIAS.
What AoB do you target turning final?
