Telephones, radios, and movies became popular for entertainment purposes and to connect long distance, cars became more popular, particularly the Model T Ford. This was good for businesses to transport goods and start delivering services. Insulin was invented by 2 students from uoft. Bandages and q-tips were also invented. Lastly, household appliances like washing machines, stoves, and vacuums were advertised to reduce the amount of household cleaners

Women gained the right to vote in 1918 and the first woman in parliament was Agnes macphail in Ontario 1921

Emily and 4 others asked the pm if the word persons included female persons. Was a woman a person in the eye of law. 1928 women weren’t concerned people.
They used rebellion to establish new roles for women, they took control of their destinies despite being judged by others. They often cut their hair short and wore different outfits like shorter, boxy dresses, string beads, and bucket/ bell hats
