A government that expands its influence over a state by controlling all aspects of the state through methods of oppression and censorship.
What allowed Hitler to enter his way as Germany’s chancellor?
Germany was economically weak and its national morale was gone. Adolf Hitler promised national prosperity and economic stability.

How did Benito Mussolini come from a persecuted socialist into Italy’s Prime Minister and leader of the Fascist Party in Italy?
Benito Mussolini transitioned political ideologies from being a socialist into being a fascist. He organized the civil chaos to pressure the Italian government into dissolving Parliament. The Fascist Party would then be elected and Mussolini would lead as Italy’s Prime Minister.
What did Mussolini want to achieve by trying to expand his territory?
He thought he could turn Italy into a modern Roman empire.

He refused to withdraw troops in other parts of Asia and pushed for the bombings of foreign powers he disliked (United State’s Pearl Harbor, China, Communist Russia)
