Molly the Tenant farm girl
Uneducated about medical condition. Did not got to go to school very often but her brothers did. Stayed at home to help take care of mother. Found work on her own then returned home because father tells her to come home to help mother. She has children of her own and hopes they will have a better life than she did. Showed the struggle of many women during the depression.
ERA
Proposed constitutional amendment outlawing discrimination on account of sex. An amendment designed to give women equal rights. Was originally written by Alice Paul. June 3, 1982 it failed to receive 38 ratifications and was not passed.
19th Amendment
Prohibits any United States citizen from being denied the right to vote based on sex
Companionate Marriage
A new style of marriage that emphasized companionship and compatibility between spouses, as well as sex education, birth control, and easier access to divorce.
