Irish Rebellion led by Wolfe Tone

A

Wolfe Tone was involved in plotting French landings in Ireland to overthrow the government. It failed and he was captured. It showed Pitt that the Protestant-dominant Irish Parliament couldn’t maintain stability. Motivation for Act of Union.
