Why did Allah give us free will?
Because without it, we can not fully submit.
Where does the belief in al-Qadr come from?
In the Qur’an there are passages which instruct Muslims to wait patiently for the consequence of disbelievers as Allah has ordained what will happen to them.
What are differing opinions on al-Qadr for Sunnis & Shi’as?
Sunnis believe that Allah knows everything that has happened and that will happen. Some believe that Allah writes down everything he knows.
Shi’as believe that Allah is all-knowing however they think that he has the ability to change the course of fate for a person.
How does belief in al-Qadr affect the way Muslims lead their lives?
They live life according to the rules that Allah has set in order to make it into al-Jannah.
They are constantly aware of any thoughts that they have and actions or deeds that they do which oppose Allah’s wishes.
