What is the definition of Risalah?

What is the difference between ‘Rasuls’ and regular prophets?
Rasuls were given holy books whereas regular prophets just give messages.
What was the need for multiple prophets if they were all sending the same message?
The message was often distorted or ignored so multiple prophets were appointed to teach people.
What is the definition of ‘Khalifah’?
A person appointed by God to look after the world, in this case - Adam.
What was Adam’s role as a prophet?
He was given the role of khalifah, meaning he looked after the world. Muslims look up to him as an example of how they should steward.
What was Ibrahim’s role as a prophet?
He sacrificed his son, showing Muslims that they should be prepared to submit to Allah.
What was the role of Dawud as a prophet?
He killed Goliath and brought messages - he was seen as a prophet, a leader and a law-giver.
What was the role of Isa as a prophet?
He was mentioned in 15 chapters, showing his importance. Muslims recognise his virgin birth but do not accept his resurrection. They also only refer to him as the son of Mary because there is only one God in Allah so Jesus is not divine.
What is the meaning of Qur’an?
Recitation - Muslims believe that it is important to keep the Qur’an in Arabic so as not to lose meaning.
What is the meaning of ‘Kutub’?
Revealed books (to humanity).
