A

Yàak bpai tîeow hàat rĕr?

It’s a question particle used when seeking confirmation of something thought to be accurate or to make a question sound softer similar to ‘châi mái?’ (lesson 4). While ‘‘châi mái’ tends to be neutral, ‘rĕr’ often conveys a sense of surprise or disappointment and a bland conversational rejoinder to assure the speaker that you are still listening.
