Q

Describe and explain 5 ATP properties

A

1) Releases small, manageable mounts of energy - so less energy is wasted

2) Small and soluble so can easily be transported around the cell - Moves around cytoplasm to provide energy for chemical reactions

3) Releases energy immediately - only one bond needs to be broken

4) Phosphorylate other compounds to transfer energy - makes other compounds more reactive

5) Doesn’t leave cells - constant supply
