Concerned with our values as a community and how they impact different groups in a society
Morals
To do with our personal code of conduct, encompasses how we choose to behave including our decisions at the expense of others
Social issues
A term used for behaviours and expectations of a society
Cultural Issues
The term for matters that have an impact on the nature or culture of society
Benefits of workforce automation
Improved efficiency
Reduced strain on workers
Can work where it is too dangerous for humans
Reduce accidents
Downsides of workforce automation
Loss of jobs in certain sectors
Shift towards low-income jobs
Dependence on computers
Benefits of remote working
No commute (less fossil fuels, people work longer hours) Less people to distract you
Downsides of remote working
Mental health issues due to less interaction
Harder to separate home life and work
Asimov’s First Law
A robot must not harm a human being or, through inaction, cause a human being to come to harm
Asimov’s Second Law
A robot must obey all orders given to it by humans, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law
Asimov’s Third Law
A robot must protect its own existence, except where such protection would conflict with the First or Second Laws
