The purpose of DPA
DPA is deigned to protect individuals’ personal data by regulating how organisations collect, use, store, and share that data, ensuring the privacy and rights are upheld.
Principles of DPA
They must make sure the information is:
- is used fairly and lawfully
- used in relevant way
- kept up to date
Rights for data subjects
- request a copy of data
- correct the data
- prevent marketing using
What does RIPA do?
Governs the investigation, surveillance and interception of communication(通讯拦截) by public bodies.
Ensure that ISP’s networks are sufficient to facilitate surveillance.
Problems with RIPA
- Some people feel it is an invasion of privacy
- And the Act is often improperly used
Offences regulated by the Computer Misuse Act
1.Unauthorised access to computer materials.
2. Unauthorised access with intent to commit further offences.
3. Unauthorised modification of computer material.
The Copyright, Design and Patents Act
Protect people’s original property, copyright automatically applies.
