15. Flight Controls Flashcards
What pressure differential detected by the Delta P switch will activate rudder boost?
60 +/-5 psi
What position must the bleed air switches be to arm rudder boost?
Both OPEN or ENVIR OFF position
How can rudder boost be disengaged?
Place either bleed air switch to INSTR & ENVIR OFF position
Above what altitude is yaw damp required to be operational?
17000ft
How does the split flap protection work?
The fuse or switch is rigged in such a way that if either flap on one side splits 3° to 6° during travel up or down, the circuit is interrupted and the motor stops. Once the motor stops due to a split flap condition, the flaps cannot be moved until the failure is corrected.
(No protection between different sides of aircraft)
When will stall warning sound for each flap position?
Retracted- 5-13kt above stall
Approach- 5-12kt above stall
Down- 8-14kt above stall
What is V fe (approach and down)
Approach- 200kias
Down- 157kias
What is Vmca?
86kias
What is the purpose of the lump of the aileron trailing edge?
To assist with centring tendency after aileron deflection.
Introduced on 200 after aileron was made longer on longer wing.
