Q

How does the split flap protection work?

A

The fuse or switch is rigged in such a way that if either flap on one side splits 3° to 6° during travel up or down, the circuit is interrupted and the motor stops. Once the motor stops due to a split flap condition, the flaps cannot be moved until the failure is corrected.
(No protection between different sides of aircraft)
