1.5 Dynamics Flashcards
Projectile
Path body takes
Shape of projectile motion
Parabolic
Projectile motion
Motion caused by uniform velocity in one direction and uniform acceleration in a perpendicular direction
Equation used for body accelerating constantly under gravity
SUVAT
Equation used for motion of body isn’t affected by gravity or other force
Velocity = displacement/time
What is instantaneous velocity a result of?
Constant horizontal velocity
Vertical velocity gained as falls
What velocity doesn’t change during flight?
Horizontal
What do you have to do for body’s projected at an angle?
Resolve velocity into horizontal and vertical components
What is said about the trajectory of bodies that are projected at an angle?
Symmetrical
Time of flight is twice time taken to reach max displacement/height
Range
Maximum horizontal displacement of body
Is the body at rest when it reaches maximum vertical displacement?
Vertical component = 0 but does not mean velocity is 0 as there is still a horizontal component of velocity that doesn’t equal 0
