4) 12th July, manifesto issued. Warwick returns to London
5) Pembroke & Devon have disagreement, Devon leaves to camp 12 miles away
What happened DURING the Battle of Edgcote?
1) Fighting begins between rebels and royal Yorkists at close quarters, evenly contested
2) Warwick’s guard led by W. Conyers + W. Parr arrive, rout Yorkists
3) Devon flees, Pembroke’s forces collapse
What happened AFTER the Battle of Edgcote?
- Pembroke + brother Richard executed at Northampton
- Devon captured + executed in Somerset later
- 29th July, Edward IV leaves Nottingham oblivious to loss. Captured by G. Neville at Olney

What happened DURING the Battle of Losecoat Field?
1) Ed IV finds rebels near Empingham
2) despite pardon, executes Lord Welles in sight of both armies
3) begin charge on rebels, cries of “a Warwick” and “a Clarence” from rebels. Sign of treachery
4) royal forces rout rebels, break line and flle
What happened AFTER the Battle of Losecoat Field?
- Lord Willoughby captured + executed
- Willoughby confessed involvement of Warwick + Clarence, and document found showing proof
- Clarence + Warwick flee to France
