A

fever, sore throat, painful swallowing

children 5-10 most affected, another peak 15-20

can be non-specific in younger patients: fever, poor oral intake, headache, vomiting or abdo pain.

What will you see on tonsillitis examination?

A

red, inflamed, large tonsils with or without exudates.

Always do otoscopy
Palpate for cervical lymphadenopathy
