THE BUDDY SYSTEM
- was introduced after the Kovco death to reduce UDs:
- When away from the supervised training environment, and before performing the ‘FUIs’ - Final function test - Unload drill - Individual safety precaution (= procedure to clear an unknown weapon) Members are to buddy up with someone else qualified in the weapon, who ‘OCCs’ your actions: - Observe the drill - Correct errors - Confirm weapon is CLEAR
