chlamydia
a common STD caused by bacteria, it infects the urinary tract and can cause infertility
genital herpes
caused by the herpes simplex virus, sores turn into painful itchy blisters - people have outbreaks several times a year and the virus stays in the body for life
HPV
human papillomaviruses (over 100 types) can cause genital warts and increase the risk for cancer
endometriosis
tissue that normally lines the uterus grows somewhere else in the abdomen, causing pain, infertility, and heavy menstrual periods
ovarian cyst
a fluid filled sac on an ovary, it is sometimes painful and goes away by itself
ectopic pregnancy
a fertilized egg implants somewhere other than uterus - usually in the fallopian tube, resulting in a miscarriage
breast cancer
kills more women than any cancer except lung cancer, 1 in 8 women will be affected during their lives
vasectomy
removal of a segment of the vas deferens to produce sterility in the male
