1.4 Membrane Transport Flashcards
Modes Of Transport
-Endocytosis
-Vesicles
-Exocytosis
-Simple difussion
-Faciltated difussion
-Osmosis
-Active Transport
Vesicle
Small sac of membrane with fluid inside. They are formed, transported, and deformed.
Endocytosis
Forms a vesicle from membrane and moved into cytoplasm. Vesicle contains substances from outside the cell.
Vesicle Movement
Exocytosis
When vesicle joins with membrane and deforms, letting substances out of cell.
Simple Diffusion
-moves particles across membrane
-from area of higher to lower concentration
-between phospholipids
Facilitated Diiffusion
-channels in membrane
-made of proteins
-higher to lower concentration
Osmosis
-water passing through membrane
-higher to lower concentration
Active Transport
-uses ATP / energy
-by globuar proteins
