Equality act 2010- sex and pay discrimination
Cannot discriminate against you because of your gender. It covers things like recruitment and selection, employment terms and conditions, pay and other benefits, training opportunities.
Equality act 2010- disability discrimination
An employer must not: treat a person less favourably because of their disability, indirectly discriminate unless there is a fair and balanced reason for this, discriminate against or harass a person associated with a disabled person.
Equality act 2010- race relations
The act makes it unlawful for an employer to discriminate against workers on racial grounds including colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, like direct discrimination or indirect discrimination.
Health and safety at work act 1974 (HASAWA)- employers duties
To provide and maintain equipment, premises and systems of work that are safe and without risk.
To provide information, instruction, training and supervision necessary to ensure health and safety at work of employees.

To take reasonable care for health and safety of themselves and colleagues.
To carry out their duties according to training or instructions given by employer.
To report any dangerous situations in the work place or any gaps in the arrangements for health and safety.
National minimum wage
You must be school leaving age to get the national minimum wage.
National living wage
You must be aged 25 to get the National living wage- the minimum wage will still apply for workers aged 24 and under

Public address systems- used in training and large staff meetings.
Digital projectors/smart boards- used to deliver meetings.

Databases- can be used to record employee details.
PowerPoint- used to deliver training.
Word processing- to prepare documents for recruitment, selection and training.
Internet web pages- used to advertise job vacancies.
Desk top publishing- to prepare training manuals.
E-mail- to make arrangements with employees.
