Moves Potassium into Cells
What happens to the action potential threshold in hyperkalemia?
Threshold potential decreases
Why is Calcium Gluconate given?
- Decreases cardiac irritability by raising the threshold potential
- Stabalizes the cardiac cell membrane
What is your rate in a macrodrip set of Caclium Gluconate?
1 drop every 8.5 seconds
If there is extravasion of the IV after calcium gluconate administration, what must you do?
