Mission of ESB
Provide general engineering support of an expeditionary nature to the MEF

- Conduct engineering reconnaissance
- Conduct, improve, and maintain airfields, including expeditionary airfields

Mission of ESB H&S Company
Command and control, administration and command support functions for the ESB
Mission of ESB Engineer Support Company
Provide direct support maintenance support for the specified equipment that is organic to the battalion
Mission of ESB Bridge Company
Provide general support standard tactical bridging support to enhance the tactical mobility of the MEF
Mission of ESB Bulk Fuel Company
Provide general support, class III supply support to the MEF, including distribution to, but not within, air bases in support of MEF operations
Mission of ESB Engineer Company
Provide general engineering support of an expeditionary nature to the MEF
Mission of ESB EOD Company
Support Marine operating forces by locating, accessing, identifying, rendering safe, neutralizing, disposing of hazards from foreign and domestic, CBRNE, UXO, IEDs and weapons of mass destruction that present a threat to operations, installations, personnel or material (MCRP 3-17.2C)
