All sentences have a 2 parts- a subject and predicate.
The subject tells us who/what the sentence is about.
The predicate is the rest of the sentence.

They, we, Sid, Nancy,Bob etc are all possible subjects in sentences.
For Example:
‘HE was bored with the conversation.’
‘THE COMPUTER STORE closes at 5.’
‘The best singer in the world, BEYONCÉ sold millions of albums.’

1-The books were in the box.
2-He was bored with the TV show.

1-The Books=Subject, Predicate=Were in the box.
2-He=Subject, Was bored with the tv show=Predicate.
