What are subjects in sentences?
Every sentence contains a subject and a verb. The subject in a sentence is whom the verb refers to.
For Example: ‘Kate hugged James.’ Hugged is the verb and Kate is the subject.
What are verbs in a sentences
Every sentence contains a subject and a verb. The verb in a sentence is the action.
For Example: ‘Kate hugged James.’ Hugged is an action therefore it’s a verb.
What is a compound subject/verb
Sentences can contain more than one subject or verb.
For Example:
‘Kate and Sunni hugged James.’ There are 2 subjects=Compound Subjects
‘Kate hugged and kissed James.’ There are 2 verbs=Compound verb
joined by a conjunction.
