Why is it difficult to sell different products in different countries?
People have different needs and tastes in different countries so one product may fail
What is the global marketplace?
A market using the I Gerät where manufacturers can sell goods freely with customers which increases choice and competition
What is technology push?
When a new scientific discovery is made it is turned into a product without there being a demand for it. It can improve existing products by using different materials and technology
What is R&D?
Research and development of a company which is very important to creat new and exciting products to help keep market share
What is market pull?
When new products are designed which have a consumer demand already. Enables a gap in the market to be filled
An example is that there is a market pull for phones to be flexible and fast charging
Why are job roles changing?
New technology and developments means that some traditional jobs are becoming automated so the work force needs to be more skilled for them to have jobs. The workforce needs to also be flexible because they may be doing a job in the future which does not exists now
What is culture and why is it important?
Culture covers ideas, beliefs, customs, food, dress and art. It is important for designers to be aware of culture when designing products so that no one is offended or isolated
