Q

what is the evidence for the fluid mosaic model?

A
  • cell contents flow out when cell surface is ruptured = barrier membrane present.
  • water soluble compounds enter cells easier than compounds that dissolve in lipids = lipids are major component.
  • in attempt to extract proteins from plasma membrane, some on the external surface where easier extracted, others were traversed in the membrane and were harder to extract.
