2nd Intercostal Muscles Contract expanding the ribcage
3rd Pressure Decreases in the lungs
4th air enters the lungs
how does exhalation work?
1st Diaphragm Relaxes and moves upwards
2nd Intercostal Muscles Relax, ribcage moves inwards and downwards
3rd Pressure Increases
4th air moves out of the lungs
tidal volume

how much is your tidal volume?
about 500ml

can it be that there is no air in your lungs?
no, you cannot blow this air out
what is the air that always stays in your lungs called?
residual volume
what is lung volume?
the vital capacity and residual volume
what is chest \thoracic breathing?
breathing in or out using your intercostals
what is adominal breathing?
breathing in or out using your diaphragm
what are intercostals?
muscles betwwen your rib
